Programming should be taught throughout a course, from the very first lesson until the very last lesson.

It is a mistake to wait until you reach the part of a specification where algorithms or programming principles are listed. Students who have continual experience of programming little and often become far more confident programmers. Identify lessons or parts of lessons where students can engage with programming every week.
